Met Gala 2017: The Best Dressed Men
The Met Gala is officially a black tie fundraising event for the Costume Institute of the Metropolitan Museum of Art. Unofficially, it's the fashion event of the year, where the stars come out to the invite-only event in droves wearing the latest that fashion has to offer. It's easy to overlook the men, but there's always some fine sartorial choices on display every year. Here are the guys we thought were best dressed this year:
Hasan Minhaj is having a great sartorial week, first as the host of the White House Correspondents Dinner, and now last night at the Met Gala with a super smart midnight blue Turnbull & Asser number with a shawl collar. If you ask us, this is how a tuxedo should fit. Consult our wedding dress code post for more black tie advice!
Eddie Redmayne never fails to impress with his red carpet looks, and this is no exception. While most other guys were playing it a little safer with their tuxedos, Mr. Redmayne opted for a bolder statement with a brighter blue, double-breasted tux with peak lapels from Prada, anchored with minimal shoes and a simple black bow tie.
The Met Gala theme this year called for an "Avant-Garde" dress code, and in this regard, Donald Glover did not disappoint. His stunning Burberry dinner jacket was a great move, and proved that he is the expert when it comes to the red carpet swerve. A louder jacket brought to earth with simple details is exactly what an "Avant-Garde" outfit should be.
